When you first step foot in our gym two things happen. One, you notice that everyone seems to know what they are doing and seems really fit, and two, you get this feeling of “what am I doing here?” and start to question why you even left the house that day. Both are completely normal reactions and a lot of people don’t make it past that step. In fact, the amount of people that sit in their car and turn around and go back home out of fear is larger than you think.
Let’s look at the ideal approach. You browse through our website and decide you like the look of what we do. From there you organise a free one on one session that gives you an opportunity to talk with one of our highly qualified trainers. This is called a no sweat session. We call it this so you understand that we aren’t going to make you do any exercise yet (therefore the only discomfort you will have is walking in the door) and it is also to let you know that you don’t need to sweat over it. There are no expectations in a no sweat session. It is completely free and it is our best opportunity to begin to learn about who you are and what your specific needs are.
While you’re in your no sweat we will discuss any current or previous conditions, injuries, and concerns about training. Everything that is discussed with us is considered private and will only be disclosed to our coaching staff if you decide to join. During this time we will also give you a tour of our gym and again make sure we are addressing any questions or concerns along the way.
Often one of the first questions asked is how much does it cost? We will run you through all of our pricing options and different ways you could enjoy our program.
What happens after I sign up?
We sign you up to our on-ramp program (named Elements) to ensure that you can learn the basic movements and start to ramp up your metabolic conditioning over a period of two weeks. This is done as a set of five one-on-one sessions with one of our highly qualified trainers (personal training is valued at $75 per session) and then we give you a free weeks membership (valued at $55 per week) to ensure that you like the group environment and like what the CrossFit program can do for you. We give you the Elements sessions for $250 (including free week, total value $430).
Where to from there?
From there you can sign up to any one of our pricing membership packages. We will give you some options for upfront, direct debit or ten session passes. Once you are in the main CrossFit sessions you will have continued education from the finest coaches in town on nutrition, mobility, mentality, gymnastics, weightlifting and so many more topics. We run workshops regularly and even hold free events for our members.
Once you have completed one month of training you will be the person sitting on the other side of the door. You will be the one that sees the new person nervously walk up to the door and ask all about CrossFit. You will be the person that tells that person that it’s not as hard as you think and you don’t have to be fit to start. Just like someone will say to you when you do you walk through on your no sweat session.
